The fall of the Berlin Wall created an atmosphere of departure that inspired Albrecht Leistner to found Leistner Werkzeugtechnik a decision based upon courage, competence, and the belief in the future of the Erzgebirge region.

The business started with a grinding and sharpening service for almost all kinds of cutting tools in the wood and metal-working industry. Soon it became clear that we would have to develop into a technologically leading company in our field of activity in order to meet the permanently increasing technological requirements for cutting and machining metal, wood, and synthetic materials. For this reason, in addition to the grinding and sharpening services, in the mid-90s Leistner Werkzeugtechnik began to develop and produce cutting tools made of solid carbide on state-of-the-art multiaxis CNC grinding machines. At present, our company produces several different customer-specific ranges of tools for applications in metal, wood, plastics industries, and especially for brush manufacturers, and it exports milling and drilling tools to numerous countries, such as Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Netherlands, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkiye and USA.
